Thank you very much for your purchase. This theme comes with instructional how-to videos that walk you through every aspect of setting up your new website. We recommend following these videos to setup your website. This user manual is intended to be a reference guide. Cheers and God Bless!

2. Theme Installation

Installing your new theme is an absolute breeze. We've outlined the steps below:

  1. Download the ZIP package from Themeforest and Unzip it.
  2. Within the unzipped folder you will see a file named Karma.zip - this is the Theme itself.
  3. Log into your Wordpress Dashboard and click on Appearance > Themes.
  4. Next click on Install Themes then click on Upload.
  5. Click Browse then locate the file named Karma.zip and click Install Now.
  6. After the theme has installed click on Activate Theme and you are all set! Karma is now installed!
  7. If you prefer to manually upload the theme through FTP you can simply copy the Karma folder from the downloaded ZIP package into your themes folder.

3. Options Panel

This theme comes with a very powerful options panel. After the theme is installed you can access the options panel by logging into the Wordpress dashboard and clicking Appearance > Site Options. All options are extremely self explanitory and are covered in detail in the video tutorials.

4. Menus

This theme's menus are controlled through Wordpress Menus. You can access the Menu control panel by clicking  Appearance > Menus. Menu setup is covered in detail in the video tutorials.

Here are written instructions for creating your main navigation:

  1. Log into your Wordpress dashboard and click on Appearance > Menus.
  2. Enter a Name for your Menu and click on Create Menu.
  3. Add Pages to your menu by checking off the check boxes and hitting Add to Menu
  4. To re-order the pages of your menu items simply drag and drop them into place.
  5. After your menu is completed hit Save Menu.
  6. After Your menu is saved you'll need to choose your navigation from the dropdown list under the 'Theme Locations' section.
  7. Hit save and you are all complete. Your menu is now setup.

5. Shortcodes

This theme comes with over 70 built-in shortcodes. The shortcodes are easily inserted right from the Wordpress visual editor using the theme's built-in shortcode manager. (see image below)

Image Frame Shortcodes

All images within the image frames get automatically re-sized to the dimensions below.

  • large banner - 922px x 201px - banner image for full width page templates.
  • medium banner - 703px x 201px - banner image for the following page templates: Left Nav, Left Sidebar, Right Nav, Right Sidebar.
  • small banner - 493px x 201px - banner image for the following page templates: Left Nav + Sidebar, Right Nav + Sidebar.
  • 2 columns - 437px x 234px - two column layout on full width page templates.
  • 2 columns small - 324px x 180px - two column layout on the following page templates: Left Nav, Left Sidebar, Right Nav, Right Sidebar.
  • 3 columns - 275px x 145px - three column layout on full width page templates.
  • 3 columns small - 202px x 113px - three column layout on the following page templates: Left Nav, Left Sidebar, Right Nav, Right Sidebar.
  • 4 columns - 190px x 111px - four column layout on full width page templates.
  • 4 columns small - 135px x 76px - four column layout on the following page templates: Left Nav, Left Sidebar, Right Nav, Right Sidebar.

6. 3D Sliders

The 3D sliders in this theme are powered by the amazing new CU3ER v1. Slider setup is covered in detail in the video tutorials.


3D Slider plugin

The folks at CU3ER did an amazing job with their 3D plugin. This plugin will allow you to easily create, modify and insert an unlimited amount of sliders on your website. You can download the plugin here.

7. Sidebars

This theme allows for an unlimited amount of sidebars. You can create new sidebars by clicking Appearance > Sidebars. Using sidebars is covered in detail in the video tutorials.

Here are written instructions for creating sidebars:

  1. Log into your Wordpress dashboard and click on Appearance > Sidebars.
  2. Click on Add New Sidebar and give your new sidebar a name.
  3. Now that you have created your new sidebar, you can access this sidebar on the Widgets page. Click on Appearance > Widgets.
  4. Scroll down and you will see your new sidebar on the right hand side on the bottom of the list.
  5. Drag and drop widgets into the sidebar just as you normally would. Once you are finished you will now need to assign the sidebar to the page of your choice.
  6. Click on Pages and edit the page you wish to modify.
  7. Once on the page editing screen, scroll down and you will see a new box named Sidebars.
  8. Select the sidebar you wish to display from the dropdown list and save your page. You are now completed!

7. Portfolio

This theme comes with 5 unique portfolio page templates. All thumbnail images get automatically re-sized (besides the 3D portfolio). Details and image dimensions are listed below. Setting up portfolio pages is covered in detail in the video tutorials.


  • 3D Portfolio - 555px x 360px - thumbnails get automatically created
  • 4 Column Portfolio - 190px x 111px
  • 3 Column Portfolio - 275px x 145px
  • 2 Column Portfolio - 437px x 234px
  • 1 Column Portfolio - 703px x 563px


Here are written instructions for creating a portfolio page:

  1. The first step is to create a post category that will be used for your portfolio items.
  2. Log into your Wordpress dashboard and click on Posts > Categories.
  3. Enter a new category name and click Add New Category.
  4. You are now ready to begin creating portfolio posts. Click on Posts > Add New.
  5. Enter a name for your post and if you prefer, a brief description in the content section.
  6. You now need to provide the post with a "featured image" and the URL to your "full size item". The "full size item" is what the user sees when they click on the thumbnail. The full-size item can be a flash movie, youtube video, etc etc. Here are samples to show how these URL's should look:
    • Image: http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/project1.jpg
    • YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKS08be78os
    • Flash: http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/design.swf?width=792&height=294
    • Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/8245346
    • iFrame: http://www.apple.com?iframe=true&width=850&height=500
  7. Enter the URL for the full-size item into the 'Portfolio Full Size URL' box.
  8. Add a the thumbnails by adding a 'featured image'.
  9. Repeat those steps for creating as many portoflio items as you desire.
  10. The next step is to create Your Portfolio Page. You have 4 templates to choose from.
  11. Create a new page just as you normally would by clicking on Pages > Add New
  12. Select your chosen portfolio template from the 'Page Templates' drop down list. All portfolio templates start with the word 'Portfolio'.
  13. You now need to specify which post category to display on this page. To do so, scroll down to the the 'Portfolio Category' box and choose your post categpry from the dropdown list. Save your changes.
  14. Your portfolio page is now complete!
