Metadata Technology

Metadata Technology is dedicated to delivering quality services and related tools based on open standards and open source software to realise the goals and ambitions of organisations that deal with data and metadata, with an emphasis on data that form statistical data sets and tables: these data and metadata typically support research, policy making, and marketing, in the fields of economics, finance, healthcare, education, labour, census, and technology, among others.

We are concerned with the whole data supply chain, from original business transactions, though business reporting, to statistical data production, data warehouses, and data on the web. We are also concerned with capturing, preserving, and linking the metadata that describes the data, be it structural metadata that describes the structure and content of the data, to descriptive metadata that describes and links to the origins of aggregated data, and the transformations that the data has undergone to become the figures in the published statistical data sets.
